Built by educators. Tested on the most critical audience in government.
Learn FERS did not start as software. It started as a book, then a course, then 80 two-day seminars inside one of the toughest agencies in the U.S. government. The platform you see today is the version that survived those years of feedback.
A book. A course. Two years of seminars. Then the platform.

DISA
Defense Information Systems Agency
The pilot
DISA, the Defense Information Systems Agency, was the first agency-wide pilot. The hardest audience we ever had.
90%+
five-star course ratings
The result
90 percent five-star course ratings. The facilities rated 3.5. The course rated five.
Why those ratings matter
The low score was the parking lot and the building HVAC. The course ratings came back at 90 percent five-star. That is the signal we trusted.
Mo Hasan: author of the books, designer of the platform.
Mo Hasan began his career in Army Intelligence, then spent 20 years inside the federal workforce as a contractor and educator, with engagements spanning the Department of Justice, the U.S. Supreme Court, the Securities and Exchange Commission, and a dozen other federal agencies and Department of Defense components.
He has taught more than 35,000 executives and senior managers, including Chief Justice John Roberts and senior leaders across 12 federal agencies and international executive programs.

Why most people fail at retirement planning. And it is not what you think.
The thesis that runs through everything we teach. The reason most retirement plans fall apart has very little to do with picking the right fund and a great deal to do with the questions people never get told to ask. Worth 15 minutes of your time before you spend an hour with the calculator.

Learn FERS is a subsidiary of Intupower, an education company founded in 2006. We built Learn FERS on top of two decades of teaching, then released it after two years of in-person piloting. It is delivered in partnership with The AI Policies Institute, which focuses on the responsible and ethical use of AI in service of public-interest work.

The federal benefits system is one of the most generous and complex retirement systems in the world. Most federal employees never get the chance to understand it fully before they retire.
The information they do get usually comes from their agency, which teaches them how to fill out forms, or from a broker-dealer seminar, which teaches them what to buy. We think both miss the point. The point is the family on the other side of the desk.
What we are not
- A broker-dealer or registered investment advisor
- An insurance agency or insurance broker
- A federal agency, or anyone speaking for OPM, SSA, IRS, or TSP
- A wealth-management firm earning fees on your assets
- A free seminar that sells you a product at the end
What we are
- An independent education company
- Human teachers supported by AI that watches federal law
- A transparent, auditable platform where every formula and statute is visible
- A neutral place to build your retirement plan in one private dashboard
- Accountable to our users, not to product manufacturers
Our bias is risk mitigation, not products.
We do our best to stay neutral about any particular company. We are not neutral about risk mitigation. Some people teach personal finance as a way to make as much money as possible. That is not what we do.
We teach the whole financial picture, which includes protecting what you have already worked hard to build. Most of the families we work with already have substantial savings, an annuity coming, and a TSP. The bigger question for them is not how to chase another point of return. It is how to protect the wealth and security they have built across several different kinds of risk.
Tax risk
IRMAA cliffs, RMD timing, Roth conversion windows, lump-sum taxation, and bracket management.
Legal risk
Beneficiary forms that override wills, survivor elections, durable powers of attorney, and asset titling.
Economic risk
Inflation, sequence-of-returns risk, withdrawal rate sustainability, and currency exposure.
Environmental risk
Geography, climate exposure on real estate, regional cost-of-living shifts, and healthcare-network risk.
Health risk
Long-term care, FEHB-Medicare coordination, disability planning, and survivor income needs.
Family risk
Survivorship, blended families, special-needs planning, and generational wealth transfer.
Our bias is toward personal responsibility in finance. That is the one we are happy to admit to.
Beyond mutual funds and the TSP fund menu.
Most federal retirement education stops at the TSP fund choices and a few mutual funds. We cover that ground, and we also teach what becomes available if you are willing to take on more responsibility and do more research. The further you go, the more your investment universe opens up.
The traditional curriculum
- TSP funds (G, F, C, S, I) and the Lifecycle (L) glide path
- Mutual funds, index funds, ETFs
- Traditional and Roth IRAs
- Bond ladders, dividend strategies, cash management
The self-directed curriculum
- Self-directed IRAs and self-directed Roth IRAs
- Real estate: commercial, residential, vacation property
- Domestic and international diversification
- Alternative investments and private placements
The investor-level picture
For families where it matters, we also teach the difference between retail, accredited, and institutional investor status, what becomes available at each level, and the trade-offs that come with it.
The default for most investors. SEC consumer protections apply. Access to public markets, mutual funds, ETFs, the TSP.
Income or net-worth thresholds defined by Reg D. Opens access to private placements, syndications, and many alternatives.
Qualified purchasers and institutions. Access to the broadest range of private funds, direct deals, and structured products.
Single or multi-family structure that consolidates investment, tax, legal, and estate planning under one roof.
We do showcase products. We disclose every time.
Education is harder without examples. When we teach a category of product, we sometimes use a real product as the case study. If a company in that category has a referral partnership with us, you will see that disclosure right there in the lesson or tool, plainly stated. Our promise is that the partnership did not influence the education.
We teach the category first
You learn how to evaluate every product of that type, including the questions to ask, the fees to look for, and the structural risks to understand.
We disclose every relationship
If we have a referral relationship with a product we feature, the disclosure appears in the same place as the feature. Always.
Our education does not change
The companies we partner with were selected because they aligned with what we already teach. The relationship does not buy a different curriculum.
The plain version
Yes, we receive referral fees from some of the companies we use as case studies, when our members choose to engage with them. We never sell the product ourselves and we never receive commissions on investments, insurance, or annuities. The fee is the equivalent of a teacher being thanked for the introduction, not a salesperson being paid to close a deal.
Independence
No commissions. No product sales. No data sold to financial institutions.
Transparency
Every number cites its statute. Every formula is shown. Every assumption is named.
Battle tested
Two years of in-person piloting before we wrote the first line of platform code.
